For reasons I don't understand, I have recently been removed from the
Pineapple News LiveJournal community and Allen has strongly requested that I
take no further part in promoting the application and providing any feedback.
I don't have any problems with this - it's Allen's program and vision after
all, and he can take it whatever direction he likes. If he feels that my
participation has not been aligned with the intended user base or that my
feedback has been insulting then he is therefore entitled to that view.

I didn't want to just disappear without saying that it has been a real
pleasure to play a small part in the development of the Pineapple News
application and I wish Allen and all the users every success with future
development.

Cheers,

Steve

it's because you are, for the most part, not a pnews user. somebody talking
about how great my program is, while primarily using hogwasher, is like having
my ads written by my competitors.

out of respect for your previous contributions, which i admit were very good,
i re-added you to the community. but i still don't want to hear anything else
pnews-related from you as long as you are not using it as your primary
newsreader.

this is not a new rule i suddenly sprung on you. all along, i've said i am
more than willing to listen to feedback, as long as it's coming from people
who actually use the program. drive-by "it should do this" comments by people
using other programs go to /dev/null.
