this is the first version of the program built as a universal binary. the
minimum macosx version required increases from 10.3.0 to 10.3.9, a consequence
of the universal binary build process. i've been quizzing everybody who
registers the program for months now, but i haven't yet located anybody with
an intel mac who is willing to help me test. perhaps the program will stop
running correctly in rosetta and instigate a fiery crash as a native intel
binary, which will prompt somebody to finally speak up.
there aren't a lot of big new features this time, but there are a few small
things. i wasn't able to put a lot of time into the project over the last few
weeks, because i've been applying like mad for paying jobs. i came pretty
close to getting a job doing mac programming at a company you've heard of in
seattle, but i got eliminated in the second-round interviews. no matter; I
WILL PREVAIL!!
when you delete messages in the headers view, nothing will be selected
afterwards, which is a change from previous behavior, when you'd end up with
something confusing selected. by request, selecting text in a message you are
viewing causes that selection to be used as quoted text in your reply. i made
a few small improvements to binary decoding, based on some binaries i ran
across that didn't work very well.

i SWARE i am going to get filtering to work. i had to lay a whole lot of
groundwork to make use of XOVER data, which is a major upset to my NNTP
module.
